Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre

A new sports and recreation center in Edmonton, Canada, designed by hcma architecture + design and Dub Architects in collaboration with FaulknerBrowns, combines community facilities with high-performance training.

The facility features an elevated cycling track, positioned a full story above ground, which is encircled by a running track. This design allows for diverse community spaces to be situated beneath, within, and around the tracks.

A key design element is the unobstructed sightline connecting the ground-level urban court to the cycling track. This feature makes high-speed cycling visible to the public and enhances spatial awareness, aiming to inspire future athletes.
