Conference: Architecture Shaped by Place

A lecture titled "Architecture Shaped by Place: Espacio Común on Practice, People, and Context" will be held on October 14th, featuring Paula Villa Pastor, co-founder of the Peruvian association Espacio Común.

The event will explore how architecture can be shaped by the conditions, knowledge, and lifestyles of a specific location. It will use Espacio Común's Main Floating Stage for Muyunafest 2025, winner of ArchDaily’s 2026 Building of the Year award, as a case study.

The discussion will delve into how architects interpret context, the influence of local knowledge and collaboration on design, and the role of ingenuity and adaptation in architecture.

The conversation will also consider the implications of a local project gaining international recognition and what its award signifies about current architectural preferences.
