Colar Designs Multi-Generational Home and Studio in Mexico

Colar has designed Casa Amona, a two-storey home and studio in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico, prioritizing views of the surrounding hills and supporting multi-generational living.

The 155-square-metre residence includes a adaptable one-bedroom house, a studio, and a guest bedroom. Its angular form and varied window types create distinct relationships with the landscape, with sheltered terraces on the upper floor enhancing the connection to the environment.

The home is designed for multi-generational living, with the ground floor living space convertible into a bedroom. The upper floor contains the main bedroom, a study, and three terraces offering landscape views.

A separate studio space with independent access is located beneath a wooden roof and adjacent to a planted courtyard, suitable for work or gatherings.
