Cholán Nests House Renovation

A rural house in Perucho, Ecuador, originally built as a storage room, underwent a rehabilitation to improve its structure and enhance the living space.

The project, led by architects Marie Combette and Daniel Moreno Flores of La Cabina de la Curiosidad, involved renovating a simple block-structure house located 35 km from Quito.

The structure was gradually inhabited and repaired out of necessity over time, leading to the need for a comprehensive rehabilitation.

The house, completed in 2022, has an area of 105 m² and is categorized as a house and adaptive reuse project.

The design team included David Rodríguez, with construction by Luis Guamán, Daniel Cepeda, Paul Cepeda, Luis Araque, and Italo Vita. Plumbing was handled by Geovanny Toaquiza, and electrical work by Luis Morales. Illustrations were provided by Carlos Valverde.
