BIG's Park Rise: A Vertical Extension of Athens' Landscape

BIG's Park Rise, a 50-meter residential tower at The Ellinikon in Athens, integrates with its surroundings and reimagines urban living.

Park Rise anchors the new Little Athens neighborhood within the former airport. The tower houses 88 homes with gardens, amenities, and sea/mountain views. BIG designed across scales, from homes to the city.

The stepped silhouette reflects the site's sea and mountain duality, creating cascading homes with private gardens. It acts as a 'vertical extension of the landscape,' offering generous outdoor spaces.

The design features cascading homes and a curved facade referencing Greek columns. Residences range from 1-5 bedrooms with full-height glazing. Communal facilities include a pool and fitness areas.

The project aims to integrate density with quality of life, featuring shared gardens and amenities. A pavilion with a playground and barbecue area will also support solar energy.

Sustainability is visible, targeting LEED Gold. Johansson emphasized making sustainability tangible, beyond technical performance, for resident enjoyment.

Greece offers fertile ground for innovation, blending history with future potential. BIG's approach transforms constraints into new ideas, creating a local identity rooted in context.

Park Rise is under construction at The Ellinikon, a project aiming to position Athens as a forward-looking capital embracing innovation and sustainability.
