Benedict Arnold's Grave at St. Mary’s Battersea

Benedict Arnold, the Revolutionary War turncoat, and his wife Peggy Shippen Arnold are buried in a crypt at St. Mary's Church in London.

The crypt, now a community space, is a more humble resting place compared to that of co-conspirator John André. A modern stained glass window upstairs honors Arnold, whose motivations remain a subject of historical debate.

The church also features modern stained glass windows dedicated to poet William Blake, painter J.M.W. Turner, and botanist William Curtis.

The original church on the site dates back to 800 AD, with the current building completed in 1777. St. Mary's Battersea is an active Anglican church, open to the public.
