Apple adjusts wording: photo features not for older iPhones

Apple will not release new photo features for controlling textures and grain in Photographic Styles for the iPhone 17 and older models, despite earlier announcements.

Apple has adjusted the compatibility list for these features. Now, only the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo are explicitly mentioned as compatible devices.

The original wording, which also mentioned iPhone 16 and 17 models, has been changed in the footnotes of the press release. The Dutch version of the press release still contains the original text.

The features, which allow the adjustment of texture and grain in photos, are part of Photographic Styles. These styles already worked on earlier iPhone generations.
