Analog Sound Installation Captures Road Trip Nostalgia in Berlin's KaDeWe

YONT Studio created an analog sound installation, 'Not a Passenger,' in Berlin's KaDeWe, launching a limited-edition fashion collection.

Inspired by Iggy Pop, the installation shifts from passive observation to active participation. Visitors use up-cycled car seats and select from 140 cassette tapes for a personalized auditory experience.

The 35-sqm space by YONT Studio merges styles from Namilia, Telekom Electronic Beats, and Wet Leg. It features pink styrofoam units with cassette players, headphones, a mirror, and a product shelf.

The installation emphasizes tactile interaction over digital interfaces. Cassettes require manual handling, reintroducing patience and a physical connection to listening. Exposed cables are part of the visual language.

An accompanying fashion capsule by Namilia and Wet Leg includes a cap, top, and T-shirt, exploring self-expression and the link between fashion and sound.

Telekom Electronic Beats supports the initiative, fostering creative intersections between art, fashion, and electronic music. It offers a tactile, slow-paced soundscape in a luxury retail setting.
