An Open-Source Heart Rate Monitor
A project has been developed to create an open-source version of the common Bluetooth heart rate monitors used in gyms.

The device uses an AD8232 sensor for heart rate capture and a Seeed Studio XAIO ESP32 board for Bluetooth communication. It is powered by a single 3.7V cell, with a boost converter to supply 5V. A charge controller was intentionally omitted to simplify the design, leaving battery charging to the user.
Software for the monitor can be uploaded using the Arduino IDE, suggesting potential compatibility with other ESP32-based boards with modifications. The project is noted for its simplicity, offering an open-source alternative to commercially available, inexpensive monitors.
