DIY Bandpass Filter Solves Receiver Overload

A custom-designed bandpass filter can prevent strong out-of-band signals, like FM broadcasts, from overloading sensitive radio receivers.

This project addresses the issue of nearby powerful transmitters overwhelming receivers on desired frequencies. The solution is a bandpass filter that allows specific frequencies to pass while attenuating others. The resulting printed circuit board (PCB) is described as well-designed.

The filter board includes a low-noise preamplifier and relays for switching between transmit and receive modes. Control is managed via logic-level signals. All components are surface-mount, and the PCB layout prioritizes careful RF routing.
