NEC ProSpeed 286 Laptop Reimagined as Retro Battlestation
An old NEC ProSpeed 286 Laptop has been repurposed into a retro battlestation, preserving the classic machine while integrating modern functionality.

The project retains much of the laptop's original exterior and internal power supply, which now powers a Raspberry Pi fitted inside the chassis. The original keyboard is connected via a PS/2 to USB adapter.
The passive-matrix LCD was replaced with a modern screen of the same dimensions. The Raspberry Pi allows for an authentic DOS experience through emulation and provides modern usability.
This modification is part of a trend to prevent older electronics from becoming e-waste, with the possibility of upgrading the single-board computer in the future as technology advances.
