Mini Air Blower Disassembled for RC Airplane Project

A YouTube creator explored the possibility of repurposing mini air blowers for RC airplanes, attracted by their affordable ducted fans (EDFs).

These blowers, designed for dusting, contain EDFs capable of high airflow. The internal components are minimal, with the ESC attached to the fan and only a speed regulator and switch as external controls, simplifying integration into an aircraft.

Testing revealed the unit can produce up to 110 grams of thrust at 16.5 A. This thrust is sufficient to carry its own battery pack, suggesting that two such motors might be necessary for an RC airplane.

Further weight reduction could be achieved by modifying the ESC. Reusing EDFs from discarded or broken mini air blowers is considered a viable option, potentially offering a more practical solution than using an electric leaf blower for RC aircraft propulsion.
